I was amused by their summary of the position: "pothole face plant." In London, I can see the thing working, but out here in So Cal, where municipalities do or don't repair streets at whim, it could be a problem. But he was also going a bit faster than most bicyclists and that could throw drivers off (thinking they have more time to cut him off than they actually do.) I get cut off all the time even in supposedly pedestrian-friendly Claremont, and I've survived them not only because God protects me but because I'm going too slow--I have time to react.

for 3500 euros there would seem to be better alternatives
the range, speed and cost are so bad
and it looks so dopey

==
How far can YikeBike go?

Currently the YikeBike can travel a distance of 9 - 10 Km.

==

==woohoo, 7 miles

How fast does the YikeBike go?

The YikeBike is electronically limited to 20 kph, even down-hill.

==

even DOWNHILL!?
wtf
==

if you have to stop fast, do you just sail head first into space?

i dunno..

what else could you get
a road bike
a commuter bike
a mountain bike
all 3 of them could be very nice

a motorcycle

3 or 4 scooters

a decent used car

a segway [speaking of silly]
