oes the wheel size and model of bike matter? Where would I look for a decent wireless speedometer for a folding bike? What kind of price should I be looking at for a good one?

The wheel size and model shouldn't matter. You enter the wheel circumference into the cyclometer. You will probably have to do a "roll out" to measure that. Many folding bikes use wheel sizes that aren't covered in the cyclometer manufacturer's directions.
You can get a good unit for $25, $20 if you shop the sales.
