Which bike for daily commuting?

I live about 5-7 miles away from work and am looking for a good quality bike that handles well on flat roads and occasional inclines. I have a beach cruisers but would like something a bit more agile and practical. Thanks!

I would say that a good quality flat bar road bike could do the trick. In other words, a road sport bike that is built on a road-bike frame with road-bike components, but with a flat bar instead of the down-turned racing bars. There are quite a few brands out there like that. Go to a decent bike shop and run this by them. I am sure they could set you up with something. Good luck.
