hey. first of all- what kind of touring?
I suggest this one: http://www.rei.com/product/730480 This is one wicked commuter and with slight adjustments here and there is ready to go on really long tours as well, be it credit card touring or decent adventures with stealth camping. it’s affordable and is very durable. the components are top-notch for the price.
also I like Dawes cycles http://www.dawescycles.com/dawes/touring-bikes.htm They’re very classy for the price and depending on the model there are awesome tourers… many different models so you can choose either a more commuter or more touring type bike
I can totally suggest the Surly bikes http://www.surlybikes.com/ very very durable as they’re all made of steel and many good options. affordable as well
Schwinn road bikes. I’ve had one and my brother has too. I beat the hell out of mine cause I jump alot, and I’m surprised I haven’t broke anything in the past year. Strong and cheap bikes.
Affordability: go with a Surly Cross Check or Long Haul Trucker.
