Suspension bicycle forks or rigid – which is faster?

would I be quicker with rigid forks? I'm new to commuting to work by bike and have about 2 miles of fairly steep uphill at the end of my route.

Suspension on the road is a big waster of energy! Lock them out if you have them on your bike. If you are buying a bike, and your use is in the road, you are buying the wrong type of bike! If you are commuting and looking for a bike that will do roads, paths, and light trail riding a hybrid / cross bike will be a much better choice for you!

  2. You don’t need shocks on a bike for the road, they add weight and absorb pedaling energy. You want a bike with 700c wheels an no shocks. A road bike is even better when it gets windy.
