Suggestions for a new bicycle?

i want a new bike i dont know what kind to get... I want it to be fast of coare, easy to ride, i wanna ride it on trails not so much mountains. I am really tall and i would like it to be able to fit in my car

  1. You can never go wrong with Trek – even the low end cycles seem to set the standard. If around $300 isn't too expensive you're on your way… or look for a good used one.

I have an old hardtail 1989 Giant I use for trail rides and commuting – I just switch out tires. Heavy but solid.

Get a good frame and then look for Shimano components. (the Trek website goes through the various "grades" but again even low-end Shimano is decent). My Giant still has the original Shimano gears and they still work OK after years of abuse.

NEVER, EVER, EVER waste your money on a department store bicycle!!! Even if it's a "brand" they make different bikes for these big box retailers!!! The headaches and unreliability are simply not worth it.

  2. you can get some decent bikes for around £200 and up… you wanna probably get a hardtail, gonna be lighter, cheaper, and easier to ride on roads. to get it in your car u just gotta get a bike wiv quick release front and rear wheels. at the lower price look at some carrera or GT bikes maybe even a few Konas…. if the budget stretches higher say £500 look at the bottom range Trek, Scott or Giant bikes….. (there are lots more… just a main few)
