Recommend me a good commuter bicycle?

I am a novice (newbie) bicyclist and I was wondering could anyone recommend some good commuter bikes. I am mainly using it to commute to school (High School Junior). I was looking around and I'd prefer something like a hybrid. i.e. http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/bike_path/hybrid/7000/

  1. Any of the hybrid bikes will work, the ones without shocks are more efficient and liter. Fitness bikes usually don’t have shocks.

  2. Look for a Cannondale Bad Boy, they are great.
