What quality tire to buy for my bike?
Cannondales CAAD9 R6 (2008). I just bought this bike the other day but I feel I should upgrade the tires to a more premium tire. The current tires are Maxxis Fuse Foldable, 700 X 23C. What tire would you guys suggest I get and why?
I am more concerned about speed and quality rather than comfort of ride. Thanks!

specialized, conti’s, vittoria. foldable. if for training use kevlar belted. you can get thred count in 66tpi or 127tpi. 127 better for puncture resistance and supple. you can also look at getting 700×19 or 21c.
You just got the bike, just make sure the tires are at the correct pressure that is on the sidewall, the higher the faster. You wont see much difference in speed with another tire if any.

I am not a Specialized dealer so I am not sure how much these will run you in a shop but check out this link. I have used the Mondo tires during the start of a race season and was pretty impressed with how much control you feel on the road when cornering and also sprinting.

The tire isn’t exactly round, like most others, and is made like a tire from a Motorcycle Superbike which have to corner very well.
Look for TPI ratings, the more the better is an VERY, VERY basic way of seeing how nice a tire is.
I think these are worth looking into if you want quality and speed in a tire. Other than that, you can look at Vittoria tires. That is what I am riding but I get em free so I may be a little partial
