How do you pur the front tire on a bike?

Do I shove it in between the brakes? I just purchased a bike (Dahon Jack) and I have to mount the front tire. Do I need to remove the brakes?

  1. You shouldn't need to remove the brake. There is a quick release to let off cable tension.

P.S Doesn't anybody check links? This one shows in great detail how to operate a promax type quick release plus all the other adjustments.

Maybe the down arrow is from somebody who hates people finding out these things.
