Any good cheap versions of the Sinclair A Bike folding bike?

I need a small portable/packable bike to get me to the train or bus, and onwards to destinations in Manhattan. All short road biking, and nothing too strenuous. The Sinclair "A-Bike" looks like a good option, but is expensive. I see no-name copies for sale on ebay for and up, but don't know how good they are and how available things like spare tyres/etc are. Any experiences to share?

Check out Dahon, ‘http://www.dahon.com/ or Citizen, ‘http://www.citizenbike.com/default.asp?gclid=CIqonfKrkZcCFRJxxwodFUcoeA .
The A-bike doesn’t look like something I would want to ride. Both Dahon and Citizen make folding bikes that actually look like a bike.
If you buy a rip-off on eBay, it probably won’t last long and there will be no warranty and no real guarantee you’ll even get it.
Looking at the a-bike, one thing strikes me. Those tiny wheels would make for a very rough ride on the road. They are so small that it would take a very small pothole to send you over the handlebars. Bet those tires would wear out pretty fast as well. A good folding bike will never be cheap, if it is, you can be fairly sure that it will not perform very well.
